Is it true HMRC are not happy with travel and subsistence in the recruitment sector?
HM treasury conducted a lengthy consultation issued in July 2008 to investigate exactly how travel and subsistence was being operated within the recruitment sector. At had the opportunity to put a stop to T&S in the sector altogether. However, after taken on board responses from the REC , Big 4 accountancy firms and other leading industry bodies they announced in the pre budget of in November 08, that although they were aware of certain compliance issues, that they were happy for travel and subsistence arrangements to remain in sector as long as they were run in a compliant manner.
